A Time To Be Direct
When a coaching client and coach seem to be “stuck” it can create frustration and tension within the coach-client relationship. Sometimes it takes the proverbial “two by four” for the client to regain their traction and continue progressing. That “two by four” is often Direct Communication. It is a competency that most coaches use sparingly or not at all. In this session we will walk through approaches you can use to be more direct and ultimately very effective.
In this program we will:
- Discuss each of the three core competencies, one at a time, and process their meaning and application.
- Two volunteers will demonstrate the application of each core competency as coach and client while the remainder of the participants serve as observers.
- Using a Reflective Feedback model, we will offer our observations and insights on what we experienced as we observed the session.
- We will wrap up after we complete the third core competency and then entertain and answer questions as a group.
CEU's for this program are 1.5 Resource Development
