The ICF PCC Marker Taxonomy: The Learning Markers

The ICF PCC Markers have become the standard for evaluating professional coaching. As such, every coach should be aware of and applying the Markers in their daily coaching. The Marker Taxonomy is invaluable to coaching since it helps organize the 47 behavioral markers into a meaningful structure. Understanding of the Markers facilitates the systematic execution of these coach behaviors. The “Learning” Markers create awareness through invited reflection on the coaching content and process.

Three learning objectives:
- Participants will understand the history of the PCC Markers and how the Taxonomy came into being and accelerates mastery with the Markers.
- Participants will understand the Marker Taxonomy at a high level and be introduced to the five (5) fundamental Marker categories.
- Participants will know the “Learning” Markers in particular.

Meet Tom Krapu, PhD, PCC
Tom Krapu is the “taxonomy guy”. His ICF PCC Marker Taxonomy has gotten rave reviews from coaches at all levels and is being integrated into ICF coach training. The Taxonomy organizes the 47 ICF PCC Markers into five broad categories to help them be learned more easily. Tom has completed the ICF PCC Marker training. He uses his Taxonomy in his role as a mentor coach and coach educator. He teaches executive coaching at the University of Texas-Dallas Jindal School of Management.
Tom’s PhD level of training in psychometrics, assessment and test and scale construction brings the highest level of training and experience to the debriefing of coaching assessments including 360 feedback surveys. He designs and implements 360 feedback programs in organizations. He also manages a 360 feedback platform where he publishes custom 360 feedback surveys including his own that are designed for physicians, congregationally based clergy and K-12 school principles.
